This customer in Plymouth, MA was concerned about putting up an awning over his back deck due to the frequent high winds he receives living across the street from the Atlantic Ocean. We took this as a challenge and built an extra strong frame to meet it.

To strengthen the frame and make sure it would hold up to the frequent 60+ mile per hour wind gusts we added an extra front post, used longer than normal stainless steel screws, and installed extra rafters as well.
For the cover itself, we sewed in extra pockets which keep the middle of the cover tied down to the steel rafters of the frame.
