Canvas awnings look right at home on an old brick building, and can easily be attained using a grant from the New Bedford Storefront Reimbursement Program.
We recently installed new canvas awnings for Kirby Paint, an old local business native to New Bedford. They wanted to spruce up their building’s brick facade and knew just where to go. Local businesses, like Kirby Paint, can benefit from a storefront grant the city of New Bedford is offering. The grant will pay for improvements to to the appearance of a commercial business if they add a sign or awning. It will cover costs up to $2000 for materials and can turn an expensive project into something much more manageable. This great program may be just what many businesses in the area need to give their storefronts a facelift. We are very experienced with the process and can walk anyone through it.

The New Bedford Storefront grant will also pay for extra signage added to awnings. On these particular awnings, we had to paint on graphics reading “Since 1846”. Some may think that graphics can’t be applied to canvas awnings, but with a mask and a little paint, we can take care of it.
