Staying out of the elements when entering and exiting the house is a problem we all have and is compounded for the elderly.  When it takes more time to make it up the stairs and in the house when it is raining out, things can get pretty soggy.  This  couple, in New Bedford MA, were sick of having this problem while trying to get their power chair up and down the stairs, so they called us.

Our solution was to mount an aluminum awning wide enough and with enough projection (it was a big one) to cover both the landing as well as the stairs.  To add extra strength to this jumbo awning we were able to attach a support post directly into their existing railing, which gave it a nice cohesive look and saved them some money.

Overall, both the customer as well as ourselves were very happy with how this project came out.  It is certainly nice to know that they will no longer get absolutely soaked on the way into their home.
